Do you like history?  Want to learn as much as you can while on vacation?  Well, you have to the right place, Williamsport and Lycoming County is rich in history.  The first stop should be the Lycoming County Visitors Center where you can pick up some brochures on all our fabulous museums.  Start your history adventure off with a visit to the Thomas T. Taber Museum, which is the Historical Society of Lycoming County.  Here you will see all about our lumber heritage and the full history of our beautiful county.  Afterwards, take a leisurely walk through our Historic District, know as Millionaires' Row.  Millionaires' Row follows West Fourth Street and is full of beautiful Victorian Homes.  While in the district, make sure to call ahead and make a reservation to visit the Rowley House Museum.  The Rowley House has been designated as one of the best examples of Queen Anne Victorian architecture in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  Don't forget to stop in the Peter Herdic Transportation Museum, where you can walk through one of the only remaining 1949 Pennsylvania Pullman Parlor cars.  Also check the Williamsport Trolley schedule, it's a great way to hear about our history. 

Still looking for more history on the area?  Take a short drive to Muncy and visit the Muncy Historical Society Museum.  The Muncy Historical Society has an amazing collection and a full schedule of programs, so make sure to check their calendar before you visit.  A short drive west of Williamsport, you can find the town of Jersey Shore.  A visit to the Jersey Shore Historical Society will be worth it.  Another great stop is the Blooming Grove Historical Society, which is located at the Dunkard Meeting House.

A visit to Williamsport and Lycoming County would not be complete without learning about Little League Baseball.  Little League was founded in Williamsport in 1939 by Carl Stotz, so the first stop should be Original Little League, which is located on West Fourth Street.  Original Little League was the home of the first 12 Little League World Series.  Next stop is the Little League Museum, after a huge renovation the museum is state of the art and full of surprises.  A visit to Williamsport is not complete without seeing the Little League Complex where the Little League World Series is played each year.
